Frankfort Fire and EMS operates a Kentucky Board of EMS approved Training and Education Institute (TEI).  Under the medical direction of Dr. Walter Lubbers and general operational oversight of The Chief Executive Officer, Chief Eddie Slone, Frankfort Fire and EMS offers a wide array of initial certifying and continuing education courses.  Under the current Level III TEI designation, Frankfort Fire and EMS TEI offers the following pre-hospital education:

Frankfort Fire and EMS is currently seeking accreditation of its long standing and successful paramedic program by The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).  Upon review and approval to operate under a Letter of Review (LOR) by the Committee on Accreditation

of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP), Frankfort Fire and EMS will seek an upgrade of its current TEI designation to a Level IV.  With approval to conduct Paramedic Certification Courses, Frankfort Fire and EMS will begin conducting programs that are cost efficient, tailored to working EMT’s schedules, and one that produces high quality paramedics.  Our first course is anticipated to begin in August 2017.

Inquiries regarding any of the offered courses may be made to Barbara Sauter RN BSN at bsauter@frankfort.ky.gov or by calling 502 875 8515.
