Sewer Department FAQ
What information do you have concerning SWIMMING POOLS?
As of December 15, 2005, FSD eliminated swimming pool credits.
Pool Facts to Protect our Streams and Sewers: Wait at least 48 hours after any chemical treatment to the pool water before draining your pool. This will allow the chlorine to dissipate. Some pool treatment chemicals contain Copper and Silver that are toxic to aquatic creatures and can cause fish kills, if discharged to a stream. The backwash from a pool filter system should not be discharged to a stream; it should be discharged to the sanitary sewer system, whenever possible.
