| PINSLEY TRAIL HANDRAILS | The City of Frankfort, KY intends to issue a contract for a company and/or individual(s) with a background in protective railings, barriers and fencing to provide a bid for materials, supplies and installation of protective railings for the Pinsly Trail Project (also known as the Thorobred Trail Project), commencing with the execution of a contract between the City and the successful company and/or individual(s).
The Response shall be provided in accordance with the stated specifications in Article III TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS of this invitation. The scope of this IFB is to seek a qualified railing and fencing company and/or individual(s) of commercial public use protective railings and barriers to provide professional services to the City of Frankfort, Kentucky to install a protective railing, approximately 2,600 linear foot, along the Pinsly Trail project currently set to begin construction in late February 2021. Successful company / individual(s) shall be notified by the City’s Purchasing Agent. After contract award date, delivery shall be made as expeditiously as possible. There is a strict timeline for the installation of the railing due to construction timelines. The selected company and/or individual(s) will work closely with the project engineers from Strand Associates as well as the selected contractor performing the construction of the trail, Colston Paving, Inc., to ensure proper installation at correct locations and according to specifications.
The Pinsly Trail Project is a paved 8-10 foot wide pedestrian trail being constructed, partially along an old railroad bed, from the entrance of Kentucky State University to downtown Frankfort, near the main branch of the Commonwealth Credit Union & State Office Building, located near 417 High Street, Frankfort, KY 40601. The trail will be approximately ¾ of a mile long and the area is rugged terrain and on an incline.

| UPDATE TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN | The Frankfort/Franklin County Planning Commission is soliciting proposals from qualified firms for the update to the 2016 Frankfort/Franklin County Comprehensive Plan. The current Comprehensive Plan was readopted in 2016 after a significant update in 2010. The last time that a firm was engaged with the community to perform analysis and write a “new” Comprehensive Plan was 2002. |
