The City of Frankfort Solid Waste Department provides a free electronic recycle service to all Franklin county residents, non-profit organizations, or local businesses.
Dropping Off E-Scrap
**Please call City Hall at 502-352-2088 ahead of time to verify that staff are present to assist you with your drop off.
To ensure that e-scrap goes to the correct location, all items must be dropped off at:
Recycle Center 309 Rouse Avenue Frankfort, KY 40601
Hours (please call ahead to verify that staff are present to assist with your drop off) Mondays 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Please check the holiday schedule for a list of days the Recycle Center is closed. Any change with the drop-off times will be in the local paper, on the local radio station, and on the City of Frankfort website
Protection of Personal Information
To protect your personal information, electronic recycle will not be picked up at the curb.
The City of Frankfort sends all electronic recycling to an approved electronic recycling facility.
As a reassurance that your personal information dos not get into the wrong hands, Solid Waste will drill a hole into hard drives upon request.
The Public Works office oversees the operation of five divisions:
Streets & Floodwall
This department is also responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4).
Drainage & Engineering
The Public Works Department oversees drainage and engineering issues within the city limits.
Development plans are reviewed by this office to insure adequate drainage, roadway sight distance, traffic control, parking, etc. Permits are issued for drive approaches, street cuts, grading, and other types of work performed on city streets or in right-of-ways.
The Public Works Department is in charge of the Sidewalk Program. The City of Frankfort has taken over maintenance of the entire sidewalk in the public Right of Way.
The Public Works Department is inventorying the areas that require repair and is systematically performing the required maintenance as part of the Pavement Replacement / Repair Plan.
