Due to changes in the recycle market and the materials that are accepted at the Lexington Material Recovery Center the list of materials that are acceptable in the recycle cart has changed. Effective immediately Paper products, Fiberboard products of all type and Glass of all colors will no longer be accepted. We understand this will take time in getting use to these changes, however carts will not be tagged for mentioned items for the first few weeks, after this grace period carts in violation will be tagged and left. We hope this change is only temporary, Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Dry corrugated cardboard
Aluminum and steel cans
ITEMS THAT CANNOT BE RECYCLED
If not sure of an item, please place that item in your trash cart.
Paper products: newspaper, magazines, phone books, office and school papers, catalogs, brown paper bags, wrapping and tissue paper
Cardboard tubes and fiberboard boxes
Glass bottles and jars any color
Plastic bags or plastic film, clam shell packaging
Medical waste (ex: tubing, hoses, bags, bottles, needles)
Window, plate, or mirror glass, or ceramic tiles
Household trash (ex: clothes, wood, hoses, coat hangers) Styrofoam of any type
